1. Introduction
RenoPro is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and related services.
If you do not agree with our policies and practices, please do not use our application.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- •Profile information: Name, state/territory, property type
- •Project data: Photos you take or upload, room descriptions, measurements, renovation scope, and quality preferences
- •Communication: Messages sent through the "Email Contractor" feature
2.2 Information collected automatically
- •Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
- •Usage information: Features accessed, actions taken, time spent in the app, and interaction patterns
- •Location information: State/territory selected during onboarding (used for pricing accuracy)
- •Camera and photo access: When you grant permission to use camera or photo library
2.3 Information from third-party services
We may receive information from:
- •AI services (Google Gemini, OpenAI, and other third-party providers): Image analysis data for room detection, cost estimation, and visualisation
- •Analytics services: App usage and performance data

4. Data storage and security
4.1 Local storage
- •Your photos, projects, and personal information are stored locally on your device
- •Project data (descriptions, estimates, visualisations) is not backed up to our servers
- •If you clear your app data or reinstall the application, local data may be lost
4.2 Backend server
RenoPro operates a backend server to securely process AI requests and manage your account. This server:
- •Receives your photos temporarily for processing. Photos are held in memory only, stripped of EXIF metadata (including GPS location and device information) for your privacy, then forwarded to AI providers. Photos are never written to disk or stored on our server
- •Stores an anonymous device identifier (a random UUID) to manage your credit balance and usage. This identifier cannot be linked to your identity, Apple ID, or any personal information
- •Logs anonymised usage analytics including request type (analyse, estimate, visualise), AI provider used, response time, room category, and success/failure status. These logs do not contain photo data, personal information, or project content
- •Our server is hosted on Render (Portland, Oregon, USA) and communicates exclusively over encrypted HTTPS connections
4.3 EXIF metadata removal
- •Before your photos are sent to any third-party AI service, our server automatically strips all EXIF metadata. This removes GPS coordinates, camera details, timestamps, and other embedded information from your images
- •This means AI providers never receive your location or device information embedded in photos
4.4 AI processing
- •Photos are sent from our backend server to third-party AI services (including Google Gemini, OpenAI, and other providers) for processing, with EXIF metadata already removed
- •These services process images according to their own privacy policies and do not retain your photos beyond the processing period
4.5 Security measures
- •Data is transmitted using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS)
- •We implement technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information
- •No security measure is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute protection
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information in these circumstances:
- •Service providers: Third-party AI services necessary for app functionality
- •Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or government request
- •Business transfers: If our company is acquired or merged
- •With your consent: When you explicitly agree to share (e.g. emailing a contractor)
6. Third-party services
6.1 AI services
- •Google (Gemini): Image analysis for room detection and cost estimation
- •OpenAI: Fallback image analysis and estimation
- •Third-party image generation providers: AI-powered renovation visualisation
- •These services have their own privacy policies. Review them at their respective websites. We may change or add AI providers over time to improve service quality
6.2 Payment and analytics
- •RevenueCat: Credit and payment management
- •We may use analytics services to understand app usage. These services may collect anonymised usage data
7. Your rights and choices
7.1 Access and deletion
- •You can access your project data through the app
- •You can delete individual projects through app settings
- •Project data is stored on your device only. Deleting it from the app removes it permanently
- •You can delete your entire account from within the app by going to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all server-side data associated with your device, including your anonymous device identifier, credit balance, transaction history, and visualisation jobs. Local data (projects, photos) stored on your device is also cleared
- •Anonymised usage analytics (which contain no personal information) are retained after account deletion for service improvement purposes
- •You may also contact support@getrenopro.com for any data-related requests
7.2 Permission management
- •You can control camera and photo library permissions through your device settings
- •Denying permissions may limit app functionality
7.3 Communications
- •You can opt out of non-essential notifications through app settings
8. Children's privacy
RenoPro is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.
9. Data retention
- •Local data: Retained on your device until you delete it
- •Photos on our server: Never stored. Processed in memory and discarded immediately after forwarding to AI providers
- •Device identifiers and credit data: Retained on our server for as long as you use the app. You can delete this data at any time by using the Delete Account feature in Settings, or by contacting us
- •Usage analytics: Anonymised analytics logs retained for up to 12 months for service improvement. These contain no personal information or photo data
- •AI processing data: Deleted immediately after processing (per third-party service policies)
10. Australian privacy compliance
RenoPro is committed to complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). While project data is stored locally on your device, our backend server stores only anonymous device identifiers and credit balances. No personal information:
- •You have the right to access any personal information we hold about you
- •You can request correction of inaccurate information
- •If you have a complaint, you may lodge it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
11. International users
If you are accessing RenoPro from outside Australia, your information may be processed in Australia or other jurisdictions. By using the app, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in these locations.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy in the app and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
13. Estimate disclaimer
RenoPro is an educational planning tool only. Cost estimates and visualisations are indicative and for planning purposes. They do not constitute professional advice or binding quotes. Always obtain multiple quotes from licensed professionals, verify local regulations and building codes, and consult with tradespersons before committing to a project.
